You should not need to know your exact timeline, final guest numbers, family photo combinations and precise plans for fourteen months' time before you are allowed to say hello to a wedding photographer or videographer.

So if you are thinking about photography or videography for your wedding, here is what actually happens when you enquire with Nimble.

And yes — you are absolutely allowed to contact me when your current wedding plan consists mostly of a date, a venue and “we haven't really worked out the rest yet.”

That is completely normal.

It starts with a very simple enquiry

The first step is telling me a little about your wedding. Your date and venue are useful if you already know them, along with whether you are interested in wedding photography or wedding videography.

There is space to tell me about your plans too, but you do not need to write an essay. Some couples send me practically their entire wedding itinerary. Others send three sentences. Both are perfectly fine.

The important bit is simply starting the conversation.

Then we have an actual conversation

If I am available for your date, the next step is usually a relaxed discovery call. Instead of spending several days sending messages backwards and forwards trying to find a time, I can send you a choice of available appointments and you choose the one that works for you.

The call is there for us to talk about your wedding, what you are looking for and what matters to you. It is also your opportunity to work out whether I am someone you would actually like hanging around at your wedding for most of the day.

Because that matters. Your photographer or videographer is going to be there during some pretty personal moments. You should feel comfortable with them.

There is no sales script and no expectation that you make a decision while we are talking.

After the call, everything is in one place

This is something I have spent a lot of time improving behind the scenes.

Rather than sending you on a treasure hunt through old emails, attachments and random links, your private Nimble client portal becomes the home for your wedding journey.

When it is time to choose your coverage, you can see the relevant package and any available optional extras clearly, look through everything in your own time and decide whether it is right for you.

No mysterious pricing. No “contact me for details”. And definitely no pressure-filled countdown timer claiming another couple is about to steal your wedding date in the next twelve seconds.

The private Nimble client portal used to keep wedding planning, documents and next steps in one place
The clever bit is mostly invisible. I have built the system around the way I actually work with couples, so appointments, packages, contracts, payments, questionnaires and later your gallery can follow a clear journey without you needing to keep track of which email contained what.

If you want to go ahead, booking is simple

Once you have chosen the package that feels right, the next steps continue through the same journey. Your contract can be read and signed electronically, your booking payment is handled securely, and once that is complete your wedding is booked into my calendar.

You do not need to print anything, scan anything or remember which attachment was the latest version.

That sounds like a fairly small thing, but wedding planning involves enough administration already. My bit should be easy.

Then we start getting to know your wedding properly

Once you are booked, your wedding questionnaire helps me learn much more about the day you are planning: the people involved, timings, the things that are important to you and anything I need to know to make the experience comfortable.

You do not have to have all the answers immediately. Wedding plans develop. People change their minds. Timelines move. That is fine.

Wedding clients can also return to the portal for the Nimble Wedding Guide, so useful planning information is there when you actually need it rather than arriving as another enormous email to lose.

And then comes the good bit

Eventually all the spreadsheets, emails, table plans and conversations turn into an actual wedding.

My approach on the day is the same one you will see throughout the Nimble website: relaxed, natural, helpful when you need me and out of the way when you do not.

Your wedding is not supposed to become a twelve-hour photoshoot. I want you spending the day with the people you invited, not constantly wondering where the camera is.

If you tell me beforehand that you hate being photographed, feel awkward in front of a camera or need things handled in a particular way, that is useful information. You do not have to perform for me.

After the wedding, your portal changes with you

Once the wedding is over, the planning information gets out of the way and the focus moves towards what comes next.

While I am working on everything, you will see that your gallery is being prepared. Then, when it is ready, your finished work is delivered through your private client gallery.

For photography clients, that means being able to revisit the day through your photographs and download the full-resolution files. For videography clients, it means finally sitting down and watching the movement, voices, reactions and moments that made the day what it was.

Preferably with something nice to drink. Possibly with tissues.

Why have I built it this way?

Because the experience matters too.

Of course I want you to love your photographs or your wedding film. But I also want the months before and after your wedding to feel easy: clear communication, knowing what happens next, being able to find things when you need them and not wondering whether you missed an important step.

Behind the scenes, I have built my own system specifically around how I work with couples. You do not particularly need to care about that part.

What you should notice is that things just work.

And that means we can spend less time doing wedding admin and more time talking about the bits of your wedding that are actually exciting.

Planning your wedding?

You do not need to have everything figured out.

Whether your wedding is in Norfolk, Suffolk or somewhere further afield, tell me what you know so far. I will check the date, we can have a relaxed chat, and you can decide whether Nimble feels right for you.

No awkward posing. No awkward sales pitch either.
